Donation For Water Tower

When the City of Arlington erected a new water tower, the plan was to simply add the city name to it.  The Lions Club formed a committee of citizens to push for recognition of the city’s baseball heritage. The Arlington A’s have won many state amateur baseball titles.  The Sibley East Wolverines have also won two state high school baseball championships. The fund raising was successful due, in part, to major assistance from the Arlington Lions.  The result is the iconic water tower design, which, from a distance, appears to be a baseball resting on a buff colored bat.
