District Project Chair
Job Description:
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the project (Leader Dog, Youth Outreach, Lions Quest, Hearing, etc.) for which you are responsible.
- Assemble the latest data and information on your project. NOTE: The MD5M Project Chairman for your project should provide much of and possibly all of the data and information.
- Define the Project
- What is the project
- What are the project goals
- Who is served by the project
- How do people use the project
- What is the annual project budget and needs
- What are the future goals for the project and what is required to meet the goals
- Provide a history of the project, its accomplishments to date and the Lions involvement.
- Prepare a presentation, using the above information, to use with Lions clubs and other interested groups.
- Educating every Lions club in the district on goals, accomplishments and needs of the project that you are responsible for.
- Encourage every Lions Club to support the project with contributions that at least meet the minimum suggested level of contribution.
- Provide a program on the project to every Lions Club at least one time every three years
- Provide regular reports on your plans and accomplishments to the District Governor and the District Cabinet on your plans and accomplishments.
- Produce a year end report on your work and accomplishments
- Attend District Level leadership training when available.
- Attend District meetings and conventions.
Qualifications:
- Should have served as President or Secretary of his/her Lions Club and/or experience in other club offices is desirable.
- Good understanding of Lions Clubs International and of his/her District.
- Interest in and good understanding of the District project he/she will be responsible for.
- Credibility with the Lions in his/her District.
- Desire and ability to work with other Lions and Lions clubs in his/her District.
- Effective organizational and presentation skills.
- Time available work with and assist Lions Clubs in his/her District.
- Ability to take part in Leadership Development programs in his/her District.
- Ability to attend zone meetings, district meetings and Mid-Winter Conventions.
